Mayo Clinic sponsors Florida Black Excellence Festival

Mayo Clinic in Florida sponsored last week’s Florida Black Excellence Festival, which began on Juneteenth with a series of events recognizing Black-owned businesses, young Black professionals and the Black community. The event aimed to educate and inspire the local community, promote economic development and increase exposure to cultural resources. Nearly 30 Mayo Clinic volunteers staffed a booth to share health, educational, community impact and employment resources with visitors. The event also provided basic health screenings, simulated activities and information about workforce development opportunities. Blue Zones partnered with Mayo to provide information about health and wellness, and the Sulzbacher Center also provided information about the weekly Mayo clinic it hosts. This was Mayo’s second year sponsoring this event, reflecting its commitment to diversity and community well-being.
