Mayo Clinic named among America’s Greatest Workplaces for LGBTQ+ by Newsweek

Mayo Clinic was recently named by Newsweek to its 2024 list of "America's Greatest Workplaces for LGBTQ+."

Mayo Clinic is among 400 organizations recognized by Newsweek for creating a more inclusive, equitable and supportive environment for members of the LGBTQ+ community.

The Newsweek ranking recognizes companies that create an environment where all staff feel valued and respected, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, and feel that their voices matter within their organizations.

"It is vital that all Mayo Clinic staff feel the workplace is inclusive and welcoming," says Anjali Bhagra, M.D., medical director for Mayo Clinic's Office of Equity, Inclusion and Diversity. "Our recognition as a 'Greatest Workplace for LGBTQ+' is a testament to our commitment to building an environment that supports all our colleagues."

Mayo Clinic remains committed to creating an environment of belonging for everyone. From EverybodyIN conversations to activities and events sponsored by the LGBTQ+ Mayo Employee Resource Groups and more, there are many opportunities for all staff to learn more about and celebrate colleagues who are part of the LGBTQ+ community.

"The ability for any staff to come to work and feel they don't have to hide an important piece of their identity is crucial to fostering workplace belonging," says Barbara Jordan, administrator of Mayo Clinic's Office of Equity, Inclusion and Diversity. "At Mayo Clinic, we are so proud of our LGBTQ+ employees and understand they are invaluable to our history and our future."
