Mayo Clinic Health System in SWWI bolsters CPR/AED training for next generation of healthcare professionals

Mayo Clinic Health System in Southwest Wisconsin (MCHS in SWWI) generously sponsors the La Crosse Public Education Foundation's Gold Star Grant program. This year, the grant was awarded to the Health Science Academy to improve its CPR/AED and first aid training. The Health Science Academy provides field experience, job shadowing opportunities and mentorships for high school students interested in healthcare careers. The grant equips the academy with four realistic CPR mannequins and two deluxe instructor kits, allowing students to develop and refine essential CPR/AED skills. These resources bolster emergency preparedness in La Crosse and benefit outreach programs on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
