Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse partners with local college on Medical Assistant Fast Track Program

Mayo Clinic Health System in Southwest Wisconsin (MCHS in SWWI) has partnered with Western Technical College to create an accelerated Medical Assistant Program, which was designed to get students into the workforce more quickly than traditional programs. This 21-week program, which began on Jan. 6 with 12 ambulatory patient care specialists enrolled, includes in-person, hybrid and asynchronous virtual classes. Upon completion, students can sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification. Supported by the Vernon F. Dale Charitable Trust, the program is offered free to qualified participants, who are then contracted to two years of employment with MCHS in SWWI after completing the program
