Mayo Clinic gives back to the Community through Mayo Clinic Cares

Employees  looking for ways to offer  time, talent and resources to give back to their communities,  can use the  new Mayo Clinic Cares program. The program connects employees  to volunteer opportunities in communities.

“Giving back to our communities is an integral part of Mayo Clinic’s mission,” says Erin Sexton, director of Community Engagement. “We are pleased to launch the Mayo Clinic Cares platform to connect staff to community causes they most care about. Our communities are best served through shared collaboration, sustainability and inclusion values, and Mayo Clinic Cares contributes to this.”

The Mayo Clinic Cares program:

  • Connects employees to causes they care about most.

  • Identifies opportunities for employees to share  skills in the community, and promote Mayo’s mission, vision and core values.

  • Encourages  involvement with community outreach and social responsibility efforts while supporting work to advance diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Expands community reach with tools to search and register for opportunities, record volunteer activities and hours, and share experiences beyond the program.

Employees can sign up as an individual or, in keeping with Mayo Clinic’s value of Teamwork, can organize an event and sign up with colleagues. Volunteer opportunities will continue to be posted as nonprofit organizations, Community Engagement and Mayo Clinic Cares Champions post volunteer needs.
