Mayo Clinic Community Relations Presenting Sponsor of STEAM Summit

The 2023 STEAM Summit (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) encouraged more than 3,200 middle and high school students, from over 48 schools, to pursue science, technology, engineering, art and math careers. The goal was to connect the students to business and higher educational institutions.  “It’s important for these students to begin early thinking about future careers,” a guidance counselor shared.

Over 110 institutions, that offer STEAM training and careers, participated in a highly interactive, hands-on format attractive to young people.
“The future success of the Southeast Minnesota economy depends on a well-prepared pipeline of students with the education and skills needed to keep the region's businesses and industries competitive”, according to the Rochester Chamber.

This summit brought together, higher education, local government and our community to motivate and prepare students for an increasingly competitive global marketplace.

A majority of participating vendors were Mayo Clinic Departments, including patient care, trade work, technology and human services.
