Mayo Clinic Health System in SWWI attends Sparta STEM KAMP

On June 21, staff members from several Mayo Clinic Health System in Southwest Wisconsin (MCHS in SWWI) sites participated in STEM KAMP in Sparta, Wisconsin. During this event, third through eighth graders and their families had the opportunity to explore various aspects of healthcare. In addition to learning about the healthcare industry, students were able to touch and handle a human heart, brain and lungs, gaining a deeper understanding of these vital organs. They were also shown healthy and unhealthy pig lungs, witnessing firsthand the effects of smoking. MCHS in SWWI professionals actively engaged the students, sharing insights into potential healthcare careers. Whether it was discussing medical technology or explaining the intricacies of human anatomy, STEM KAMP fostered curiosity and encouraged students to consider healthcare as a career field in which they could make significant impacts and find meaningful work.
