Using more than 17 pounds of flour and butter, 10 pounds of powdered sugar, 20 bags of chocolate chips and 280 pretzel rods, Mayo Hospice volunteers baked and delivered 260 dozen cookies to more than 70 hospice patients and their families. All in a day's work, the volunteers worked in 3 shifts to make buttery spritz ribbon cookies, coconut thumbprint cookies and toffee, chocolate, and pecan cookies spread over graham cracker. This effort allowed hospice patients to relive holiday traditions while making new memories with loved ones during the holiday season.
There are many ways Mayo Clinic nurtures strong community partnerships. And there are many ways you can be part of this experience.
