Mayo: “Creating a Community of Immunity”

April 23, 2021

Mayo Clinic joined forces with a coalition of 60 of America’s top hospitals and health care institutions in a nationwide campaign to encourage adults to get vaccinated for COVID-19.

The Get the Vaccine to Save Lives campaign is designed to reassure those eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccines that doing so is safe, effective and necessary to achieve herd immunity and return to a normal way of life. With COVID-19 cases on the rise around the country, Mayo Clinic and other leading medical authorities strongly advise that vaccination is the best, fastest and safest way out of the pandemic.

“We’re asking people to talk to their health care providers if they have questions and then get vaccinated,” says Gianrico Farrugia, M.D., Mayo Clinic’s president and CEO. “The vaccine is our strongest asset to end the pandemic, and I urge everyone who is eligible to get whichever vaccine you’re first offered to save lives.”

The national vaccination campaign aims to reach adults who are hesitant to be vaccinated for COVID-19. The campaign will include national print and digital advertising, local and national media outreach, social media, an awareness video and an informational website.
