Mayo Clinic proudly sponsored the lobby exhibit for the performances of The Diary of Anne Frank, a stage adaptation of the first-hand account written by Anne Frank while she was hiding from the Jewish seeking Nazis during WWII. It was performed at Rochester Civic Theater (RCT) on February 8-24, 2019.
“The exhibit was an important part of the overall experience for our patrons and visitors.” said Sinead Chick, RCT Company Operations Manager. “The show drew sold out houses plus two additional performances for area high-school students. We received great feedback on the show and the exhibit. In fact, such great feedback we are investigating similar opportunities for the community.”
The professional exhibit was designed by the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect in New York City. It contains more than 30 panels with actual photos from the time period, concentration camps and Anne Frank’s hideaway.
RCT Executive Director, Kevin Miller, described the mission of the show and exhibit “to eliminate the ‘other.’ It’s important to see similarities in others’ lives, and recognize that we are not all that different from each other. Mayo Clinic made this exhibit in Rochester possible.”
