Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin staff pack 500 snack bags for community food insecurity awareness event
The Hometown Food Security Project needed 500 snack bags packed for an April 25 community event to raise awareness of food insecurity in Mower County. Nearly 20 volunteers from work units across Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) in Albert Lea and Austin, Minnesota signed up through Mayo Clinic Cares to help on April 1. The bags included snacks, swag and a Mayo Clinic magnet featuring a childhood immunization schedule. The volunteers finished in record time and had fun working together and learning about the Hometown Food Security Project’s efforts.
