Mayo Clinic in Rochester contributes more than $1.5 million in community support during the first quarter of 2024 

Mayo Clinic in Rochester has provided more than $1.5 million in support to 64 community-based organizations so far this year. The grants are intended to help improve community health and vibrancy, reduce health and opportunity disparities, and address social determinants of health.  

Highlights: 

Ability Building Center – to expand training and work opportunities for adults with disabilities. 

American Red Cross – to support blood supply and disaster response capacity. 

Barbershop and Social Services – to support the Still We Rise Rochester’s Black Legacy traveling exhibit. 

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota – to provide youth mentorship programs. 

Channel One Regional Food Bank – to reduce hunger and food insecurity in Southern Minnesota. 

Collider Foundation – to nurture new entrepreneurs and businesses among BIPOC and underrepresented community members. 

Community Food Response – to preserve and distribute wholesome, unused food to alleviate local food insecurity. 

Earthfest – to celebrate and educate around local environmental sustainability efforts. 

Elder Network – to strengthen services that allow older residents to live independently and thrive and thrive. 

Family Service Rochester – to support mental health services and senior independence programs. 

Friends of the City of Rochester Music Department - to support the 2024 forWARD Park Concert series. 

Girl Scouts of Minnesota – to support youth mentorship and enrichment. 

Greater Rochester Advocates for Universities and Colleges – to support collaborative workforce education and training initiatives.  

Jeremiah Program – to expand their childcare program serving single mothers.  

Med City Arts Festival – to support the 2024 event to celebrate the arts in Rochester 

Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans – to support housing and counseling programs that serve Minnesota veterans. 

Minnesota Council on Nonprofits – to strengthen and sustain the capacity of local nonprofit organizations to serve our community. 

Recovery is Happening – to support peer support counseling and housing services for residents confronting addiction.  

Rochester Art Center – to support operational needs and help sponsor the 2024 special exhibit Dreaming our Futures: Ojibwe and Očhéthi Šakówiŋ Artists and Knowledge Keepers. 

Rochester Pride – to support the 2024 event in Rochester celebrating the LGBTQI+ community. 

Rochester Sports Foundation - to expand and strengthen Rochester sports facilities and opportunities. 

Rochester YMCA – YMCA of the North – to support youth enrichment programs in Rochester. 

Sing Out Loud – to support youth enrichment in the choral arts and provide financial scholarship. 

Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation – to support early childhood care and education efforts in Rochester and Southeast Minnesota. 

The Village Agricultural Cooperative – to help recent immigrant communities grow and sell culturally relevant food to support their livelihood and health. 

United Way of Olmsted County - to support broad and far-reaching programs and services that improve social determinants of health for residents of Olmsted County.
